Learning how to drive a golf ball well is a challenging task. It can take time and consistent practice to become effective at hitting this club. The reason why the driver is the toughest club to hit is because it is the longest club in the bag which makes it the most difficult one to control. Also any small flaws in your swing can result in big variations in the end result so the driver will reveal how finely tuned your swing really is.

Do not expect to become perfect at hitting a driver as even the best golfing professionals regularly mishit this club. Instead focus on developing enough consistency to allow you to hit enough fairways with enough distance so that you can then use your short game to make more birdies and shoot low scores. It is important to learn how to hit a driver far and straight because golf courses are getting longer and tougher so you need both distance and accuracy.

The good news is that there is a direct relationship between hitting a golf ball accurately and hitting it farther. If you consistently hit your driver straight then in time you will also hit the ball far. Remember that crooked drives do not go very far so the first step in hitting a driver further is to focus on accuracy first. You need to develop a swing that consistently strikes the golf ball solidly.

In order to develop an accurate golf swing you must have great control over the club. This means that you will need to develop a more relaxed swing where you do not use your muscles to try to force more club head speed in an effort to hit the ball further. Use your muscles and strength to support your golf swing but let the club do most of the work.

Remember that golf clubs are designed to hit the ball far if you make good contact so you do not need massive muscle power. You need to take advantage of leverage which is what will allow you to generate maximum club head speed. The best way to take advantage of leverage is to think of the club as a whip and to feel yourself whipping the club through the hitting zone. However this does not mean you have really force your downswing.

Rather have a swing that is relaxed both on the backswing and downswing. Always aim to finish in a balanced position. If you find yourself regularly losing balance in your finish then you need to back off a little and stop trying so hard. Most amateurs and even many pros are guilty of having a rushed backswing and this can affect your ball striking.

Also if you are deliberate with your swing both on the backswing and downswing you are much more likely to make better contact and if you do make a mistake then you will be more likely to find that mistake quicker. Another useful tip to help you generate more power is to think of your left shoulder exploding up on your downswing. This will help to keep the swing in the right plane where the club comes from the inside to out and will also allow you to create more leverage.

Grip pressure can also make a big difference to your swing and hitting it further. You want to use your left hand to apply pressure to the grip and your right hand should stay passive. If you try to get your right hand involved too much in the swing you will end up casting the club or coming from the outside to in which will result in hitting a lot of slices. Use some of these strategies to help you drive the ball better.

Even though a regular car service can keep your car in tiptop condition, you still need to be especially prepared for driving in slippery conditions. Whether the slippery conditions are caused by rain, hail, snow, sleet or an oil spill, you need to be more careful than normal.

Here are some tips for making your trip safer when driving in these dangerous conditions.

Slow down. It goes without saying that driving at speed in any slippery conditions will only add to the danger. Don’t be concerned that you are travelling at lower than normal speeds or that other vehicles around you are travelling faster. You should only drive at a speed you feel comfortable with, especially in such dangerous conditions. Even if you are driving a four-wheel-drive that is built more specifically for these conditions, lowering your speed is still a necessity.
Travel at a safe distance from the vehicle in front. When conditions are dangerous it is always better to give yourself more room to move and keep clear of any flying water from the car in front of you. As a rule of thumb try to keep at least four or five car lengths from the current front of you.
One of the important issues that some drivers ignore is how anti-lock brakes work. Check out your car manual to get the full details so you are completely comfortable with anti-lock brakes in slippery conditions.
As you are driving, use the accelerator and brakes gently. In other words don’t make any sudden movements or use the accelerator or brake sharply otherwise you will lose control.
If you see snow on the road take your foot off the accelerator so you avoid spinning out.
If you are driving near snowploughs or other machinery make sure you slow down even more and be careful to avoid any vehicles that may be stranded on the road. Also beware of other obstacles that may be blocking the road for example trees or telephone wires.
Never use cruise control when driving in icy or rainy weather. This is because you need to maintain complete control of the vehicle at all times, so the use of any automated systems should be avoided.
In order to maintain complete attention and focus when driving in slippery conditions, never usual a mobile phone. Even if you have a hands-free function you should only use the phone in an emergency. In a similar vein, your radio should only be tuned to information stations so you are not distracted by music.
If the car in front of you has snow on the roof keep as far away as possible in case it ends up flying into the air and on to your vehicle or falling off the roof creating an obstacle for you. This should also serve as a reminder for you to remove all snow from the roof of your vehicle before starting out.

The next time you take your vehicle in for an auto service, make sure to ask your mechanic to check your vehicle so that it is prepared for

There are a lot of horror stories online from people who have failed their driving tests miserably. If you read any of these, you will only make yourself nervous and intimidated. The best thing for you to do is focus all of your attention on studying and NOT on fear or nervousness. You also need to practice driving every single day – even if it’s just a few minutes. Go out with an adult and practice as much as you can.

Check out online resources. There are ebooks, how-to videos, tips, and even secrets available on the internet at your disposal. Even if you’ve already passed the written test, you still need to do a lot of reading. There are some practice-written tests you can take that can help prepare you for the road test as well. Learning all the rules and knowing what to do and when will help you feel more confident when you’re driving during the test.

Sometimes the examiners or other DMV employees will share details about the things they’ll be watching for during your test. Knowing exactly what you’ll be examined on ahead of time will make it easier for you to prepare. While it’s important to study and learn everything, knowing ahead of time what you’ll be tested on will give you a focus point. Studying and practicing will go more easily from there. Find a checklist online of the things you need to go over during your practicing and print it out.

Keep in mind that you’re not going to become a great driver overnight, so don’t push yourself too hard. It’s okay to relax every now and then. It’s going to take some time, practice, and patience. If you’re having any problems, keep working on them. It is essential that you work on your weaknesses, although you shouldn’t neglect your strengths either. In other words, work on your weaknesses but still remember your strengths.

If you’ve taken the test before and failed, then work on your weak spots. What do you have trouble with? What mistakes did you make that resulted in failure? Learn from these mistakes and work on improving your weak points. Never forget that learning is an ongoing process, and that it’s okay if you can’t get the hang of everything at once. In time, everything will get easier. If you’ve already taken the test and failed, don’t let yourself feel discouraged. Instead, keep on practicing, take advantage of resources online, and try again!

Ultimately titled as ‘Web 2.0′ promotion, social bookmarking and social networks form an effective type of promotion that has rapidly gained popularity and effectiveness. Previously, it was mentioned that these represented a valuable source of backlinks, and that much is certainly true.

However, apart from the backlinks that come as part and parcel of web 2.0 traffic marketing efforts involving these websites, there is also the additional possibility of receiving traffic through those backlinks. After all, if there is an interesting bookmark that draws the attention of the crowds of people who flock to social websites, then there will probably be a correspondingly high amount of visitors who want to know more and creates targeted Web 2.0 Traffic.

There are however three things that one should be aware of regarding social bookmarking, and social networks:

1. Not every piece of content is going to do well in social bookmarking websites. For the most part, the content that does do well when social bookmarked is those that are deemed to be ‘fresh’, ‘hip’, expertly informative, or even controversial.

2. Research has shown that traffic from social bookmarking websites and Web 2.0 tends to have a very high ‘bounce rate’. What this means is that very few visitors that come in through social bookmarks will actually end up staying around long enough to browse your website.

3. Some social bookmarking websites are very niche specific, so finding those in your niche is very important. It not only increase the value of the backlinks obtained, but also allow you to do much better due to the relevancy and automatic targeting Web 2.0 Traffic.

It is not recommended to overlook the real effective way to utilize web 2.0 sites and that is to actually meet new people and network. Do not think of web 2.0 sites as billboards but it is a relatively easy and painless way to gain backlinks, and also build up yet another traffic stream, Is an effective way to receive traffic Web 2.0.

Do you feel bad about what you eat and you’re not happy about your current weight, then listen up this is important.

I want you to start enjoying what you eat more. I’m talking about what makes you happy and what you think will make you happy in the future. Do you want to be thin? Do you want to have a super sexy body in less than a year? Do you want to have more energy & vitality?

Here are some rules for you. Do not eat while watching TV, at your desk at work, or otherwise distracted. Eat with family and friends as much as possible. Enjoy their company, and laugh!

Eat what will make you happy tomorrow. Eat what will make you happy in 2 years. This starts with just one decision. The next time you decide to enjoy a bite of food. Think about each bite. If you want to lose your belly fat, you have to pay attention.

We seem to be good at thinking about food all day, but when we are actually eating, we’re distracted, and we keep eating past full. This means we’re putting fat on our bellies everyday every time we eat past full. Stop doing that starting right now.

Lose your belly fat by eating only when you are hungry, and don’t eat distracted. Stop eating when you start to get full. Don’t over eat. You can lose your belly fat with exercise too, but don’t exercise for too long. Start making choices that are healthier. Take the stairs. Walk. But don’t do too much cardio, just work hard. If you work-out hard for about 30 minutes a day, that should be fine.

Here are some great motivation tips for you as well.

1. Be Specific. Know exactly what you want and work towards a specific goal. It is better if you quantify the amount of weight you want to get rid of and the reason why you want to lose that much weight. And sometimes you just want to get rid of a few pounds to fit a really nice dress. Just be specific. Knowing exactly what you want and why you want it will push you to actually work for that goal. Write your specific target weight on a piece of paper and post it somewhere you regularly pass by to remind you that you are working for something important and attainable.

2. Reward Yourself. Rewards work for everyone. The rewards system is a proven and effective way to motivate. Think of good rewards to help you in sticking to your weight loss plan. Say every 5 lbs. you lose you buy yourself a pair of shoes. Or every 10 lbs. you take off you reward yourself with a trip to the mall – get a well deserved gift for yourself. As it doesn’t involve food, then you’re good to go.

3. Picture Perfect. Pictures elicit emotions. Post pictures on your walls, ceiling, refrigerator door, and bathroom cabinets to remind you of why you are losing weight. Pictures of your family, pictures of old flings, pictures of people you want to look like, and even pictures of clothes you want to fit into. These will remind you to stay focused on your goals and will push you to work harder to reach them.

You already know what you want and how to get there… you are more than half way there! Follow these weight loss motivation tips and ensure your success.

In stunt driving, you take all the driving skills you could ever possess, and challenge them in ways you could never have contemplated.

It not only takes driving skill, but also imagination to make the car do what’s in the mind of a director or stunt coordinator, timing to make it all happen at the right time and at the right place, and most of all, an ability to adapt and bring energy into each new and challenging situation.

Here’s a good story to illustrate this. A friend of mine was working on a car commercial. The shot they wanted was that of a car driving through a torrential downpour at a high speed. To achieve this, they mounted a jet engine in the back of a truck, along with a big water tank (only in film could anyone think that up!)

My buddy was to drive one foot behind this thing, in a convertible, with the top down, without using his windshield wipers! He couldn’t see a thing! On top of having water sprayed into his face, the jet engines fumes were brutal on his eyes.

I have my own as well. In one of the scenes of My Boss’s Daughter, I was driving a BMW when an Owl flies in through the passenger side window. This knocks the passengers head into my lap, and then it hovers right in front of my eyes, flapping it’s wings.

Because of this, the car goes off the road, over medians, into oncoming traffic and ends up smashing through the side of a house. Now, there just isn’t any way to practice for something like that!

Stunt driving will take everything you have ever learned about driving and put it to the test in ways you could never imagine. Having as varied a driving background as possible is the best way to prepare yourself.

On with the fun….

Be fast, be safe, be precise.

There are many golf tips on driving on the web today. However, these tips do not work equally well for all golfers. This is because most tips focus on specific situations. What you, as a beginner, should search for is tips that will help you get the drive right every time you play golf. Check out some useful golf driving tips given below.

- A clear mind is very important. Had the drive been all about sheer force alone, then golf would have been filled with individuals with strong arms. There is no doubt that a drive requires a lot more power as compared to an iron or a putt. However, the force and power must be focused properly. The swing and the execution must take place very smoothly. This is possible only if you are calm and cool. Do not try to fight your nerves. You will just forget other golf driving tips if you do that. Rather, recognize it and use it to get your drive right.

- The most powerful drive will send the ball farthest only if you are playing in a vacuum. You will have to consider the wind speed, humidity, course topography and other such external factors when hitting the drive. If wind direction varies very often, then it is not advisable to hit the ball very high in the air. The ball may land in the rough and make it difficult for you to get a par or below par score.

Every year in America over 10,000 new and inexperienced drivers become licensed. Distracting technologies such as text messaging, cellular telephones, GPS navigation systems and as crazy as it sounds, on-board DVD players added to the mix further hinders drivers ability to remain vigilant and safe. Add some adverse weather conditions and you could potentially have a recipe for disaster.

I am so glad that the hands-free cellular phone law went in to effect here in California. I can recall countless incidents where someone would make a mistake on the road and sure enough when I pass them they are interacting with their cell-phone. Furthermore, ladies put your make-up on before or after you get out of the car. I used to drive my mothers car when I was a teenager and I could never figure out why every time I got in the car, the rear-view mirror was pointed directly at my face. Was there something I missed in driving school? Of course with age and wisdom, and hindsight, I can now say for sure she was doing her face, endangering herself and others.

I will proceed to list out a few tips to help you cope with all the hazards out there on today’s highways and roads. I can’t guarantee that after reading this list you will be a safer driver, but I can tell you that if you follow these tips you will significantly reduce your chances for an accident.

3 Second Rule

To determine a safe following distance between you and the car in front of you, use the 3 second rule. Note an object that the car in front of you passes, such as a sign or tree. If you can count to three before you pass that same object, then you are at a safe following distance. Any less than three seconds and you could be following too close. Please note that certain weather conditions may warrant additional space.

Scan The Area Ahead of You

Do not fixate yourself on the car in front of you. It is good practice to look ahead, as far as 15 seconds to see on-coming hazards. Reduce the chance that you will have to slam on your brakes by using this technique. Fixating on the car in front of you is a dangerous habit. If the car in front of you isn’t paying attention and needs to stop suddenly, so will you. If you look ahead of that car, you will know ahead of time if there are cars stopped in front. Also practice looking through the windows of the car in front of you to enable yourself to see in front of that car.

Blind-Spots and Lane Changing on Multi-Lane Roads & Highways

Many people rely on rear view and spot mirrors alone to change lanes. This is a dangerous habit because simply checking the lane next to yours prior to a lane change does not guarantee that the coast is clear. If someone from the second lane over in the direction you wish to change lanes to is signaling and negotiating a lane change there is a good chance that you both may simultaneously attempt to move into the same space. So always check your blind-spot.

Never change lanes in to someones blind-spot. When changing lanes into a lane, parallel to another vehicle in the next lane over, be sure to make the lane change when you are in the drivers view. This is the tactic that should be employed by the opposite driver of the situation in the previous paragraph.

Please return for more articles on driver safety. I will continue to add personal tips I used to make me and my family safe on the road.

This article gives tips about taking the driving test in Huddersfield.

Now that you have had plenty of driving lessons and you are ready to take your test. Here are some tips. Let us assume that you have taken and passed the Theory and Hazard Perception test. WELL DONE!

By now you should be very competent at driving. Especially the reversing maneuvers. If you’re not, get some more practice, but I am sure your driving instructor will be giving you lots of practice each lesson. You should do at least one of the 3 compulsory maneuvers each lesson:

·        Three point turn, or turn in the road as it is now called

·        Reverse round a corner

·        Parallel park

If not, why not? In Huddersfield there is usually a waiting list for a test, often it is 6 to 8 weeks before you will get a date. So, you can use this waiting period to practice the test routes. There are 18 test routes in Huddersfield. They can be found on the DSA website if you want to see them. But don’t just stick to the routes. You should be able to drive properly on any roads, because who knows which test route you will be given. After you pass you will be driving all over the place on roads new to you anyway.

All the tests in Huddersfield start at the DSA test center in Waverley St, Huddersfield. Most pupils arrive and park the car facing downhill, so that they don’t have to do a hill start straight away. However, that means you’re on the wrong side of the road, so don’t forget to check your left blind spot before you set off. Some instructors make the pupil arrive uphill, on the left, but I think this just puts unnecessary pressure at the beginning! If you haven’t done so already, check that all the lights work, the indicators and brake lights. If they don’t, the examiner will end the test before you have even driven anywhere, so you lose your test fee.

The first thing the examiner tests when you come out of the waiting room is your eyesight. So if you need specs, don’t forget them. Then it’s time for the Show Me Tell Me part. For tips on this part go to the Show Me Tell Me section of the website http://www.drivinglessonshuddersfield.info.

Then it’s the driving part. So here are some tips to watch out for, specific to Huddersfield:

Immediately is the unmarked junction at the bottom of Waverley St, Huddersfield
If you turn left, there is then a LEFT ONLY one way dual carriage-way up Halifax Road, going away from Huddersfield town centre.
Pelican Crossing, near  Huddersfield College , STOP if it’s red!
Traffic lights, at Blacker Road, if asked to turn right towards Birkby, position car correctly
If straight ahead, through Edgerton, watch out for speed, it’s only 30mph till you see a 40 sign
Mini roundabouts, like Greenhead Park,  be ready to keep moving if it’s clear, INDICATE
Near Greenhead Park, look out for the compulsory left turn, ask your instructor
In Paddock, try not to make your examiner have a rough ride over the humps
Hudderfield has many, Unmarked Junctions, Paddock, Royds Hall, Quarmby, Crossland Moor, Marsh, get your instructor to show you where they are, have a good look both ways
Stop Signs in Huddersfield, Lindley Moor, nr Tesco, Alder St, end of Halifax Old Rd, Elland, get your instructor to show you. You MUST STOP even if new road is clear
DON’T SPEED
DON’T CRAWL, get on with it!
Park neatly at the end, don’t blow it now!
GOOD LUCK. But if you are good enough, you do not need luck do you?

This is the second article written by David Parry about taking driving lessons in Huddersfield.
